Want to Coach/Train your clients here?

Great! Here is the main info page for interested (and active) Pros:

Basics:

  1. Reach out to us, and we will meet with you at the space, get you acquainted with the space/gyms/protocol. Then you are an approved pro for us. There is no monthly fee or security deposit. You are not an employee. Your clients are yours. You can charge whatever you’d like, and collect payment directly from your clients however/whenever you’d like. You provide your own liability insurance. You are your own business.

  2. On the gym’s calendar you block off 1 hr day/time slots. During those 1 hr time slots, the space is yours. You and your clients decide who is in the space during the time slot (ie your assistants, small groups, etc). We believe a safe max (at the moment) is 6 people—not including coaches.

  3. The fee you pay us to use the space for each 1hr time slot is $29/hr. 30-minute time slots are $19, but we prefer hour.

  4. We bill you twice per month for the previous 2 weeks of space use. (Example: during January 1st-to-15th, you used the space for a total of 5 hours. On January 16, we will bill you $145).

  5. You can use the space for $free for your personal lifting, training, or workouts. More detail on this below.

  6. EQUIPMENT, see list, click here, and more detail on this below.

Open/Close Protocol:

  1. You’ll be given code to open side door. Use what you need, fan, ac, heat (don’t run AC/Heat with doors open, set AC to reasonable temp in summer 74 or higher please).

  2. Make sure clients sign waiver (this protects us and YOU), instructions are on sheet by both doors, it’s also at top of this website, and click here.

  3. Before leaving, please wipe down all touched equipment and surfaces with provided towels and disinfectant spray.

  4. When leaving: a] turn off lights, fan, & close blinds b] check AC to be sure it’s off (even if you didn’t turn it on, person before you may have). c] make sure front door is locked (again, even if you didn’t unlock it) d] bathroom light turns off by itself. e] go out side door, lock deadbolt. f]. wiggle both doors from outside to be sure they’re locked. DONE! for video demonstration, click here.

Other Coach’s Sessions before/after Yours:

  1. Please be aware of other coach’s sessions ending before your session /or/ starting at end of your session.

  2. When another coach’s session ends right before yours starts, don’t enter gym early unless other coach says OK. Consider outdoor warm-up options while waiting for your time to start. Don’t hesitate to poke your head in 5mins before your start time to remind coach that you’re up next. Just in case she/he hasn’t seen schedule update.

  3. When another coach’s session starts right after yours, plan ahead and finish early to leave enough time for cool-down and disinfectant wipe down. When possible, be accommodating of incoming coach’s warm-up and give them an area of gym to do it.

  4. Communicate, end on-time, and help the hour-transitions go smoothly.

Personal Workouts:

  1. You are welcome to personally work out at the space for free, during unbooked hours.

  2. For a personal workout, please don’t rush the previous, ending paid-trainer-sessions to finish. Give them several minutes past their hour to wrap up. And end early so the next paid session can use space a few mins early.

  3. You can have friends join you. Rule of thumb is: it should be your workout, where you are actually working out, and your friends are joining you. No training friends for free while you drink coffee and get back rubs in return :).

  4. You can even block off the time in the calendar for your personal workout. Just reserve the booking same-day (not the day before or earlier).

  5. If—last minute—your client wants an hour that’s booked as a ‘personal workout’ for another trainer, text us and we’ll free that hour up for you. Clients and paid-sessions will always take priority.

  6. Personal workouts are treated as ‘open gym' time, so other trainers can work out during the same time. Although this rarely happens…usually the space is all yours.

Insurance:

  1. You provide your own personal trainer liability insurance (and send us proof).

  2. You can use whatever company you’d like.

  3. We suggest: a) K&K Insurance, typically approx $170/year, click here for their site. b) The NSCA also has insurance for trainers/coaches, we typically find it to be more expensive.

Equipment:

  1. You are welcome to use any/all of the equipment in the space.

  2. You are also welcome to bring with you any other equipment you’d like.

  3. When done, please put all equipment away, and disinfect all touched surfaces.

  4. It is at your discretion and liability as to what equipment you and your client uses.

  5. If there is a certain piece of equipment you think the space is missing, please let us know!

Leads & Marketing:

  1. We want you to succeed and we aren’t competing with you. We succeed when you succeed. So, when you become an approved pro, we will put your info on our website, and send you any new clients that reach out to us wanting to train with you.

  2. You are welcome to market the space to clients as being your training space. If you want the gym photos & media to share, just ask us.

  3. We are happy to help you come up with ways to market yourself and get more clients; we have tons of ideas of how to do this well.

Calendar:

  1. We use a shared booking calendar platform called Skedda. Very easy to use on phone or computer. We will send you link to setup a user account. And then you are able to make bookings to gym calendar.

  2. 20hrs before a scheduled booking, you are locked out from cancelling or editing a booking. We encourage you to pass on the cost of last minute cancellations, to the last minute cancellers. This will help them learn to value your time (and the gym’s time) better.

Miscellaneous:

  1. Limit weights on turf, ideally none. Especially heavy dumbbells and kettlebells, barbells with plate weights, and dropping weights. Use the weights on the rubber. Corners and edges of weights will dent and eventually tear the turf, and make it look ugly.

  2. Water bottle filler drip tray does not have a drain, so don’t dump bottles into it. And if you see that it’s full or dripping, please empty into bath sink.

  3. The office next door has complained about bars slamming. Especially during Mon-Fri 9-5am hours, please limit dropping bars. Only when absolutely necessary: maxing, failure, etc.

  4. Don’t drop dumbbells or kettlebells (unless in emergency, failure). They will eventually snap.
